GRAPES 70% Tempranillo and 30% Graciano. VINIFICATION This wine is aged for 6 months in wooden vats, 18 months in new French oak barrels and at least 12 months in bottle. TASTING Very deep, dark black cherry colour, closed at the heart, almost opaque; purple hues. Young-looking with very little sign of evolution. Sensations of concentration and depth, with lots of barely defined nuances which will develop over the coming years in the bottle. Fruit sensations predominate, with reminders of red-berries and small, very ripe, wild fruit (blackberries, blackcurrants, wild strawberries), floral notes (dry violet petals) and minerals (graphite, iron); spicy hints from the ageing process (evoking the spice rack: nutmeg, cinnamon, black pepper) but with very discrete wood (the sensations from ageing in the cask rather than of the cask itself), and underlying ink. Powerful, big. On the palate, a powerful backbone with good body and very fine, firm tannins and splendid acidity.
